How an athlete enters a state championship, what standard they must meet, and which technical regulations apply. Entries are accepted from affiliated District Associations only.
Every athlete must hold a current registration number for the season, obtained through the District Association. Registration closes ahead of the first state championship of the season, as stated in the calendar circular.
The athlete's best mark in the qualifying window must meet or better the entry standard for the event and category, set in the championship circular.
Individual entries are not accepted. The Honorary Secretary of the District Association submits one consolidated entry on the form attached to the championship circular, by the closing date.
Fees are paid by the District Association, not the athlete, against the invoice raised on receipt of the entry.
Athletes report at accreditation with the age-verification documents listed in the current circular. Entries without them are not accepted.
Entry standards are set per event, gender and age category for each championship, and are published in full in that championship's entry circular. Where the calendar and a circular differ, the circular governs.
Competition is conducted under the technical rules of the Athletics Federation of India and World Athletics, as modified by the Association's own regulations issued by circular. Those regulations carry implement specifications by age category, permitted spike lengths, uniform requirements and the conditions under which a record claim is admissible.
Registration, qualifying window and entry closing dates vary by season and are fixed by the calendar circular issued at the start of each year. Late entries are not accepted under any circumstances.
